I've seen 2 alloy mountain bars snap and 0 carbon bars

carbon road bars seem snappy but i've had my carbon bar for 7 years now and it's still going strong! Its an Easton Monkeylite

The new superlight crank bros carbon bars look nice - with matching stems!

Set you back a few quid tho!

Hi all

I'm in the market for a shiny new set of bars (as well as a stem) & I was wondering whether I should go Carbon or Alloy for the bars???? Hmmmmmm choices !!!!
I have heard some Carbon horror stories so come on chaps what are you thoughts??

There are LOADS of bridleways out that way! Get an OS map and explore, don't bother with a GPS

Typical! The only ride I've seen where I could actually turn up on my bike and I'm on holiday somewhere else.

I'd be interested in a GPS map of the route after you've done it if someone has one. I don't see many routes around that way.

The Splendour Festival is happening at Wollaton on Saturday, which means car parking will probably be a bit of an issue there on Sunday morning (thanks to JaneD for the heads up).

So we're going to start at 10am from Bramcote Hills Park instead.
